Happy Friday! It’s no news to anyone that 2020 has been a year unlike any other. Our habits and customs have had to change with the times. One way in which our year is changing is we won’t be able to do our annual Spaces Fall Festival this year due to concerns about COVID. We are so sad to miss one of our favorite fall farm activities and will be hoping that our fun events in which we get to see all of our favorite folks will get to resume next year.
However, there are plenty of great local farms that are still doing fall activities where you can get out of the house, enjoy the changing season, and support local agriculture. Many farms offer fun fall activities like pumpkin picking, corn mazes, hayrides, fresh produce and baked goods, and agricultural learning opportunities. Don’t forget to visit the farm critters at some of these locations as well! Remember to check websites or call ahead for any COVID-related safety precautions or changes.
Read on below for information about some of our favorite fall farm activities at local farms.
Located just outside of Boulder at 75th and Valmont, Munson Farms offers hayrides and a small corn maze in addition to a pick-your-own pumpkin field. Visitors can also select pre-picked pumpkins, winter squash, and late summer produce from the farm stand. When December rolls around, keep Munson Farms in mind when looking for a Christmas tree. Check out Munson Farms on Instagram here.

Visit this Platteville farm’s Annual Fall Harvest Festival to learn about how a working farm operates. Visitors take a tractor ride through the fields and stop to pick produce along the way. Also check out the corn maze, play areas, antique tractors and farm equipment, farm animals and more. Fall products are also available for home delivery. It appears Miller Farms also has options this year for schools that are looking for educational activities so if that is of interest to you, definitely check them out. Follow Miller Farms on Facebook here for more info.
Ya Ya Farm and Orchard
Check out Ya Ya’s farm stand – located in northwest Longmont – for fresh fruit and tasty baked goods and take some time to visit the farm’s horses, chickens, turkeys, and peacocks.
Visitors can also participate in a wide range of fall activities including gourd painting or a hard cider workshop (contact the farm for details). Reservations are required for U-Pick apples and usually fill up by late August.

Part of the Denver Botanic Gardens, Littleton’s Chatfield Farms are another great corn maze option. After completing the 7-acre maze, pick a pumpkin to take home and carve. Tickets must be purchased online ahead of time. Chatfield Farms has tons more to check out. Click here to see a map of all their offerings.
Happy pumpkin picking and enjoy the fun fall activities! Until next time!
